MOVIE REVIEW: ATLAS SHRUGGED

Based on the book by Ayn Rand, which I finished reading last year, this is the first of three to be released on April 15th, 2011 with the second to follow on the same date in 2012 and the third in 2013. The film was a bit condensed from the book, omitting the flashbacks and stories behind the legend of John Galt. Although you were left wondering whether or not John Galt even existed in the book until the third part, that was put to rest at the end of this film.
The characters were well played with the blond guys in the book being cast as brunettes, and the lone brunette, a blonde. None were as I imagined them, but that's OK. Somehow I imagined Fred Thompson as Hank Rearden at first, then later my old boss, who also happens to be named Hank and is blonde; Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully/X Files) as Dagny Taggart, but later I thought by our recent Asst. Mgr. Mandii, also a brunette. For some reason, I saw Ellis Wyatt looking like General Custer dressed as Colonel Sanders (kinda like the big boss that appears at the end of 9 to 5), but excellently depicted by Graham Beckel, the conservative brother of Fox News liberal commentator Bob Beckel. Armin Shimmerman (Quark, Star Trek: Deep Space 9, leader of the Nox, Stargate: SG-1) also stars.
Excellent movie I would recommend to all.
